Release Notes - WebinarJam & EverWebinar

Product Key: WJ = specific to WebinarJam, EW = specific to EverWebinar, WJEW = applies to both services.

This release is the first step towards enabling WebinarJam users to comply with the new Texas telemarketing laws (SB 140), which expanded regulation to cover SMS and MMS communications.

Improvements

  • "Quiet Hours" for Texas Residents
When enabling SMS notifications for a webinar, users will see a notice stating Texas residents will not receive call and SMS notifications (3359 WJEW). This applies to call/SMS notifications sent during the designated Quiet Hours:
    • Monday–Saturday: No calls/texts before 9am or after 9pm
    • Sunday: No calls/texts before 12pm or after 9pm
  • Location Fields on All Registration Forms
Country and State/Province fields are included in all Webinar Registration forms, for new and existing webinars. This allows the system to capture registrant location so that Texas registrants can be identified. (3379 WJEW)
  • Texas Timezone Selection
When a registrant selects Texas as their state, they’ll be prompted to choose between Central Time or Mountain Time to ensure proper enforcement of the "Quiet Hours". (3357 WJEW)
  • Registrant Profile Update
    • Account owners can now view and edit a registrant’s Country and State/Province information in the Edit Registrant modal to correct registrant data. (3378 WJEW)
    • An automatic process has been applied to populate existing registrants' data with Country and State based on their IP address. (3362 WJEW)
  • Automatic SMS Opt-Out Links
All SMS messages now include a shortened unsubscribe link to meet compliance requirements, without eating into your character limit. (3372 WJEW)
  • Updated Unsubscribe Page

Attendees can now manage preferences for Email and SMS notifications separately using easy toggle controls. (3360 WJEW)

  • Updated API registration endpoint
Added 'country' and 'state' parameters to registration endpoints (3357 WJEW)
