Applies to: EverWebinar
EverWebinar events are fully automated, and the control panel allows you to monitor attendee activity and respond to chat messages in real time. This helps you stay engaged with attendees even during automated sessions.
How chat works in EverWebinar
The chat behavior depends on whether the Allow attendees to see each other’s chat option is enabled or disabled under the Live chat box settings in the webinar setup.
Default behavior (attendees do not see each other)
By default, the Allow attendees to see each other’s chat option is disabled. This means:
- Attendee messages are visible only to the attendee who sent them and to moderators
- Moderator messages are visible to all attendees currently watching the webinar
- Attendees do not see messages from other attendees.
When attendee chat visibility is enabled
If Allow attendees to see each other's chat is enabled and multiple attendees join the same session at the same time:
- Attendees can see messages from other attendees in that session
- Moderators can monitor and respond to all messages
- Chat behaves more like a shared conversation
Reply to attendee messages
Because moderator messages appear to everyone watching the webinar, replying publicly may cause confusion for other attendees.
For this reason, it is recommended that moderators reply privately to individual attendee messages whenever possible.
This helps keep the chat experience clear for attendees watching the webinar at different times.
Access the EverWebinar control panel
To moderate chat during an automated webinar:
- Open the EverWebinar control panel from Your Links > Presenters.
- Monitor incoming attendee chat messages.
- Reply using the chat field when needed.
Video feed behavior in the control panel
The video feed in the control panel appears only for webinars scheduled at a fixed date, time, and timezone (for example, January 1, 2026, at 6 PM Pacific Time).
The video feed will not appear for the following schedule types:
- Every Day sessions
- Just-in-Time sessions
- Instant Replay
In these cases, moderators can still monitor and respond to chat messages using the control panel.
