Applies to: WebinarJam
The panic button is an emergency feature in the WebinarJam live room that lets you reboot the webinar room without ending the broadcast or disconnecting attendees.
This tool moves the active webinar session into a new room while keeping all participants connected.
Only the room owner and administrators can use the panic button.
The button is located in the top-left corner of the live room.

When to use the panic button
Use the panic button if the webinar room becomes frozen, unresponsive, or unstable, or if the presenter loses connection to the session.
Activating the panic button creates a new live room and transfers the active session.
During the transfer:
- All active users are moved to the new room, including presenters, moderators, and attendees
- The live broadcast continues streaming without needing to restart
- Preconfigured injections (such as polls or offers created in the webinar wizard) remain available in the new room
Existing room content
Some room content does not carry over when the webinar room is rebooted.
The following items will not appear in the new room:
- Existing attendee chat messages
- Special chat messages such as sticky posts or announcements
- Injections created directly inside the live room
- Changes made to the webinar agenda during the session
However, no data is lost during a panic transfer. Analytics and replay data will include activity from both before and after the panic button is used.
Attendee Experience
If the webinar room is rebooted, presenters and attendees will see a series of status screens while the new room is being prepared.

Once the new room is ready:
- The video broadcast resumes automatically
- All participants remain connected to the webinar
- On some browsers or devices, attendees may need to press the play button to resume the video stream.
- Live chat will function normally in the new room, but previous chat messages will not be displayed.
- Any live injections that were active before the reboot must be redeployed.
