Choose the right configuration and event type based on your goals.

When creating a webinar in WebinarJam, you’ll start with two key choices: 

  • How much control you want over the setup process (configuration type)
  • How the event will run (event type)

To create a new webinar:

  1. Go to Webinars in your account
  2. Click + Add webinar
  3. Choose a configuration type and an event type to launch the setup wizard

Once your webinar is created, you can continue customizing settings by editing the webinar at any time.

Choose a configuration type

WebinarJam offers two configuration options: Express configuration and Full configuration. Both create the same type of webinar, but differ in how much you configure during setup.

Express configuration

Use express configuration when you want to get a webinar set up quickly with minimal decisions.

Express configuration uses smart defaults to preconfigure many settings for you. During setup, you’ll provide:

  • Webinar name (private name)
  • Webinar title (public name)
  • Webinar description
  • Webinar language
  • Add or edit host and presenters
  • Webinar schedule
  • Select and customize registration page
  • Customize email notifications and reminders
Important:
  • Webinar replay is disabled by default in an express configuration.
  • To modify any default settings, edit the finished webinar and select "Full configuration." 

Full configuration

Use full configuration when you want full control over every aspect of the webinar from the start.

Full configuration walks you through a multi-step wizard that lets you fine-tune:

  • Basic configuration, presenters, and streaming service
  • Schedules and recurring event series
  • Registration, auto-subscription, pay to register, and password protection
  • Notifications and your email gateway
  • Integrations and third-party tracking
  • Thank You page customization or custom confirmation page
  • Live broadcast room features, polls, product offers, slides, and more.
  • Replay enable/disable, controls, expiration, etc.

Full configuration is a better choice if you want to:

  • Use an external streaming service like YouTube or Facebook
  • Automatically subscribe registrants to future webinars
  • Enable password protection
  • Charge for registration
  • Connect an autoresponder
  • Customize confirmation and Thank You pages
  • Survey your registrants
  • Access widgets during the live event (polls, offers, files, presentations, and more)
  • Enable a recording to send to your registrants or use with EverWebinar

Choose an event type

Event types determine how and when your webinar runs. WebinarJam offers three event types, each designed for a different goal.

Right Now

Use Right Now when you need a one-time webinar quickly, such as for last-minute announcements to your team.

How it works:

This event type skips scheduling and automation so you can go live as soon as setup is complete.

  • There’s no date or time to configure, the room is available immediately
  • WebinarJam doesn’t send notification emails for this event type
  • Attendees can join the live room immediately after registering
  • Registration is always free for Right Now webinars
Important:
  • You’ll need to manually share the registration link, since no emails are sent automatically.
  • This event type is intended for one-time use, not repeated sessions.

Schedule for later

Use Schedule for later to plan events and a series of events for a later date or run a structured series of events.

How it works: 

This event type supports scheduling and automated communication, making it suitable for planned events.

  • You can configure either free or paid registration
  • Attendees automatically receive access links by email
  • This setup works well for launches, workshops, and other planned events

You can schedule your webinar as:

  • Single session: Registrants choose one date and time
  • Multiple sessions: Attendees register for all sessions
  • Recurring series of sessions: Attendees register to a series of daily or weekly sessions that run for a set number of occurrences or until you cancel the subscription

Always On

Use Always On to create a webinar room for ongoing meetings, internal training, or on-demand live sessions.

How it works: 

This event type creates a reusable live room without scheduling or automation.

  • There is no date or time selection, the room is always available
  • WebinarJam doesn’t send notification emails for these events
  • Attendees can join the room immediately after registering
  • Registration is always free
Important:
  • You must manually share the registration link with attendees
  • Each new session overwrites the previous replay and chat log
  • Download replays and chat logs after each session if you need to keep them
