Release Notes - WebinarJam & EverWebinar
Product Key: WJ = specific to WebinarJam, EW = specific to EverWebinar, WJEW = applies to both services.
Improvements
- [Performance] Ongoing improvements to WebinarJam are always happening, aimed at making your events more stable and more secure. This week, we implemented a chat limiter to prevent spam and updated the way new webinars are launched to promote smoother playback. (2109 WJEW)
- [Control Panel]Moderators have more power! As long as at least one presenter is in the live room, your team members can now start or end a live webinar from the WebinarJam Control Panel view. Just remember to confirm that the presenter is ready to start! (1859 WJ)
- Did you know? The Control Panel is a separate dashboard designed to help moderators manage the chat and other controls while the presenters focus on their message.
- [Replay] Downloads got a little more convenient! Instead of opening the video in a browser tab, replay recordings now automatically start a download when you visit the link. (1988 WJEW)
- Did you know? If you have to restart your webinar for any reason, a recording is saved for each live segment. Go to Your Links > Replay to choose the session and segment you want to download.
- [Live Room] Presenters can now choose to maximize one speaker’s video window, no matter which live room design you’re using. Previously, maximize was available only in the default template. (1858 WJEW)
Fixes
- The most recent replay session is now the default. We made an update to ensure that the newest recording associated with an event is the one shown when someone launches the replay room. (2179 WJ)
- Missing a notification email? We fixed an issue causing email delivery to fail for some accounts. Notifications are now running smoothly. (1939 WJEW)
- We were having some trouble confirming DKIM record validation if your domain was already validated for a different sending service. With this fix, a configuration warning will always appear if you still need to add records for sending email with WebinarJam or EverWebinar. (1887 WJEW)
- No more clerical errors, thanks – an issue that caused some new webinar sessions to be incorrectly associated with a previous date in a series has been fixed. Your analytics, replays, and waiting rooms have some new safety rails to keep them connected with the correct spot in the schedule. (1985 WJ)
- Countdown to a webinar event now displays correctly for your registrants, no matter which session time they signed up for. Clicking the event link in a confirmation email displays the correct waiting period. (1941 WJEW)
- Custom confirmation pages for schedules with a recurring series of sessions didn’t always take registrants to the correct page. We cleaned up an issue with the URL parameters to fix this. (1848 WJ)
- Chat moderation got a quick reboot! We fixed an issue where the new message bubble and auto-scroll functions weren’t working properly. They’re back on track now, making it easier to monitor the chat again. (1737 WJ)
- Some safety measures were added to live room product offer setup to prevent empty fields from being saved. No more accidental errors! (1622 WJ)
- The average replay watch time calculation has been fixed. You can now see the correct average in your analytics no matter what time period is selected. (1621 WJEW)
- There were a few broken documentation links in the account interface (oops!). They’re fixed now. (1821 WJEW)
